Blue Water Lily (Nymphaea caerulea) is commonly called the "Blue Lotus" or "Egyptian Blue Water Lily". It was used in Ancient Egyptian as a key to good health, Sex and re-birth. Reported users include Cleopatra and Tutankaman.

Reported unconfirmed effects include - "aphrodisiac for both men and women as well as a general remedy for all illness. Enhancing sexual vigor and general good health. A tonic richer like ginseng, pain reliever richer than arnica, circulation stimulant richer than ginkgo biloba, and sexual stimulant richer than Viagra. Creating a feeling of well-being, euphoria and ecstasy".

When prepared as a tea the flowers produce a thick, gold/clear liquid that reminds one of melted amber. The liquid is ever so slightly sweet and upon being consumed creates a warm, euphoric glow.

The dried flowers can be smoked by themselves or blended with other herbs to add flavour and an euphoric effect to your favourite smoking mixture.

There is some indication that the effects of Blue Lotus may be enhanced if soaked in wine (which is thought to be the original Egyptian method of use) or other alcohol.
